Lagoon 2010 Ad Campaign
Using Canon DSLR cameras on this project brought a different approach into the mix. Shooting stop-motion animation for not only the main sequences (along with an Arri 435 @ 150fps for highlighted moments), required that we use the same approach for the titles and graphics…. all done in-camera.
We did a lot of experimenting with different sizes and powers of flashlights, and LEDs as well as different gel colors and opacities until we achieved the line thickness, shape and texture we wanted. Then exposure times had to be shifted and adjusted to make sure they were in sync with the amount of time it took to draw the different words, as some words and phrases were obviously longer than others.
The look created was pretty unique and we were very happy with the final result.
