New 2009 Lagoon Amusement Park TV Spots

The new “Lagoon Amusement Park” spots for the 2009 Season started airing last week in several markets. These spots were shot on Kodak 35mm film, all @ 150 fps to create beautiful, slo-motion, highlighted moments of kids, families and adults having those magic moments in the park. The featured song for both radio and television, “You’re So Good For Me,” is the amazing work of new artist, Sonnet Simmons, produced by Chuck Myers of Big Idea Music Productions, and is turning out to be such a favorite, we went ahead and shot a music video for the song which will premiere in a few weeks.

The spots were created, written and directed by Matt Hodgson | Producer – Brent Feulner | Director of Photography – Matthew Williams | 35mm Film – HD Transfer, Jeff Tillotson-Colorist, Flying Spot Film Transfer (now LightPress) Seattle, WA | Graphics and Digital Effects – Steele Studios, Los Angeles | Music Video concept – Matt Hodgson and Matthew Williams | Editor – Post Production, John-david Brewer – Metropolis.

Sonnet’s wonderful song is what initially caught my attention, but as I investigated the ad I ended up here. What an interesting choice of music to advertise an amusement park! Perhaps a bit unexpected (I never would have guessed the ad was for Lagoon had I not been watching the screen), but it really appealed to the romantic in me since I possess many years’ worth of memories from past visits to the park. It really struck a nostalgic nerve, but I imagine it will also appeal to anyone who would simply like to get away and create some new memories of fun times. The imagery and the lighting are fantastic!

For those who are interested, the mp3 single of “You’re So Good For Me” is available for free as a download from until June 8, 2009.
