IMAX-Tour de France

Since the 2009 Tour de France is underway, I thought I’d post a trailer from the movie I was part of in 2006, “Wired To Win: Surviving The Tour de France.” I was hired as Director of Photography for the dramatic recreation segments, as once the story was put together, the dramatic recreations had to be set up to help tell the story. Rodney Taylor was the main D.P. on the documentary film and did a great job. Its a fun film to watch and it was fun to make. Alfred Molina narrates the film while appearances are made by Jimmy Casper, Bayden Cooke, Phil Liggett, and Paul Sherwin. The location in the south of France was the ideal place to work, (how many times do you get to shoot from an insert car with an IMAX camera on a Libra Head down the boardwalk in Nice with professional cyclists?)… and the crew, as well as senior producer Joanna Baldwin-Mallory, director Bayley Silleck and producer Myles Connolly were all really great to work with.
